The day starts early on the Manitou

Breakfast is at 7:00 a.m. With a hearty breakfast of Hot or cold cereal , Pancakes, French toast or toast Eggs & Bacon or Sausage , Juices, Tea, and a bottomless cup of coffee you will be in fine form to tackle some fighters.

At  8:00 a.m. your guide is at the dock with your boat in order and ready for a day on the Manitou:   It has been said, "No man can fish and worry at the same time," so be prepared to leave your cares behind and concentrate on "Catching the Magic."

As you leave the dock, you inhale the clean fragrance of the crisp, cool waters and tall pines.  Manitou Magic is everywhere here: in order to catch a trophy, all you need is the right lure and a good weed bed or hole.  The deep, cold crystal Manitou holds a promise of some really exciting fishing for Lake trout, northern, Small mouth bass and world class Muskie.   The Manitou will afford ideal fishing in fair or foul weather, windy or calm.

SHORE LUNCH

Your shore lunch box is packed and all you'll need is your morning's catch to enjoy a shore lunch that is only one of the highlights of your trip.  A good fire is roaring: Enjoy a bacon appetizer while pan potatoes and fresh fish sizzle, soon you and your friends are feasting on succulent Lake Trout and some of the Small mouth Bass that gave you a good morning scrap.  As an experienced fisherman, your guide has thought of everything: Do as much or as little as you like, but if everyone pitches in, you'll be fishing again very soon. {If you choose, the staff will pack you a bag lunch for the day} .Before you leave your shore lunch spot, stretch out for a bit and enjoy the view of this unspoiled lake with the majestic granite shorelines.

After Shore lunch, you're off for an afternoon of  some exciting Muskie fishing.  You can actually watch slow, lazy follows right up to the boat or see the lightening strikes come from the shadows.

Around 5:00 you'll tie up at the dock and it's time to relax. Dinner is at 7:00 p.m. and is served family style with plenty of fresh and delicious homemade bread and pastries.  You will be treated to some fine dinners of Turkey, Steak, Roast Beef, Ribs, Chicken, etc.  If you are staying for a while, put in a request for your favorite. Before dinner, there's plenty of time to enjoy the early evening. The camp lounge is open:  There are card tables, a bar area complete with a variety of mixes, ice and glasses along with a satellite TV. An ideal setting to swap tales, make new friends or renew old acquaintances.

Whatever your choices, after the initial adjustment period, which can vary from a day to just several hours, you'll discover how easy it is to relax and just let yourself enjoy.   With the extended daylight of the summer season you may want to try your skills with some evening fishing. Our small mouth bass offer the ultimate challenge and after spawning season passes, can be found among the shallow reeds and dead falls along the shores. These same areas can and do provide feeding grounds for the giant Manitou Muskie, so be ready for anything.
